Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead buying teams to continuously improve ranges and promotions to hit and then exceed sales and margin targets
  • Ensure category plan supports delivery of the customer plan and customer value proposition
  • Deliver the budgeted sales and margin and achieve Happy Fresh Hub price strategy
  • Sign-off ranges which excite customers and give them a reason to shop with us
  • Continually drive down costs and challenge suppliers with market/customer knowledge
  • Challenge data integrity so that margin is accurately reported and delivered and stock is correctly valued
  • Continually review category performance to improve the customer offer and reduce costs
  • Provide analysis of customer behavior, assortment, pricing, competitors and product-market fit to achieve sales.
  • Identify and grow new and emerging markets as well as new ways of sourcing products, supporting the leveraging of HappyFresh scale (through long term planning 3-5 years).
  • Ensure we are first for customers to meet their emerging needs by constantly seeking opportunities to innovate for HappyFresh.
  • Develop a Value Chain plan which funds investment in enhancing customer value to deliver growth.  Ensure the plan reduces costs year on year within the HappyFresh Cloud.
  • Ensure quality and due diligence regulations are met in managing the supplier product into HappyFresh
  • Successfully manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure HappyFresh has the best supply base. Work with and develop the supply base to maintain and improve upon the company’s quality position.
  • Build up and improve the capability of buying team by coaching and training them

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in retail/ Commercial (Category) management preferably experienced in Food Buying (Fresh and Grocery)
  • Experience of working and delivering cross functionally
  • Highly Driven, Entrepreneurial and strategic thinker.
  • Preferable experience in establishing sales and operations planning processes for complex B2C fulfillment models.
  • Strong ‘hands-on’ people management, interpersonal skills, stakeholder management, team building, leadership and coaching skills.
  • Strong business acumen on the FMCG supply chain to grow fast in a cost- efficient manner.
