  • Work closely with the local T2 supply base across material categories on building-up the capabilities and capacities required
  • Implement materials supply strategy as well as adidas strategic priorities into the local supply base
  • Ensure smooth materials operations by supporting T2s and LO teams in solving material related issues

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that local T2 suppliers follow adidas policies and procedures and work closely with them to build-up and maintain the capacities and capabilities required
  • Track the performance of the local supply base and give regular and comprehensive updates to the Sr Manager of Materials Operations
  • Work closely with the local adidas teams to solve material related issues by building and maintaining a close relationship to the local suppliers and facilitating the interaction
  • Work with the local supply base on implementing adidas strategic priorities, e.g., providing sustainable materials or offering materials with a shorter lead time
  • Ensure material related projects are being initiated and followed-up on within the T2 supply base
  • Execute supplier reactions, e.g., phase-out or on-boarding of suppliers, realization of counter-developments and allocation of optimized materials
  • Implement the improvement roadmap for and with key local material suppliers based on the supplier performance and supplier’s positioning in the supplier line-up of its category
  • Continuously work with the local supply base and the adidas teams in the LO to have smooth local materials operations and proactively mitigate potential material constraints or production issues (e.g., lack of skills, capacities, etc.)
  • Execute the transition and integration of new suppliers and technologies into local operations

Knowledge, Transferrable Skills and Abilities:

  • Footwear/ materials industry expertise
  • Good project management knowledge and skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Good MS office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to network with multiple stakeholders
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
  • Local language an advantage

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree, preferred study of Textile Engineering, Polymer Chemistry or other material related field
    1-3+ years of footwear materials related experience (especially leather, textile, synthetic leather) and/or an equivalent combination education and experience
